Skateboarding is a lot of things to a lot of people, but one thing every skateboarder can agree on is how important skateboarding's past truly is. And in the new film below, Concrete Dreams  we get a small taste of that evolution through the eyes of your favorite OG pros like Eric Koston to the hungriest current up-and-comers like Rayssa Leal, Sky Brown and Jagger Eaton.

The fact that skateboarding has evolved into an Olympic sport—from the days of re-worked scooters without handles to the empty pool-dwelling days of Dogtown, the height of vert and street skating to what it's become today—is pretty wild to think about. But at the same time... it was bound to happen.

However, that's hardly the point. What matters is that universal feeling every person gets when they step on their board. What matters is the camaraderie and respect that exists between skateboarders. What matters is how it encourages all of us to look at the world a little differently—in only the best ways.

Again, skateboarding is a lot of things to a lot of people and everyone deserves their opinion—despite what it is. But at the end of the day, I think we can all agree that the feeling we get from simply skating with our friends—the feeling of trying a trick and securing the clip, traveling, failing and succeeding, progressing—is what got us hooked in the first place, and continues to keep us rolling today.

As far as most Olympic sports are concerned, the camaraderie between the athletes is a new, refreshing approach to the Games. Most of these skaters are all just friends after all! But it's just another reason skateboarding is the best.

And it's safe to say, the entire world is starting to realize it.
